ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Dec. 11, 2007 – Recently recognized by Microsoft as its 2007 Global Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner of the Year, Quest Software, Inc.  (Nasdaq: QSFT)  today released the results of an independent survey which further demonstrate its leadership in the Windows Management market. Coming in a year when Quest’s Windows business includes a score of industry awards for related Quest products, the international survey results clearly show that Quest is “top of mind” in Windows Management. Second to Microsoft responses, 41 percent of respondents listed Quest first among Windows Management independent vendors.

“Administrators responding to the survey listed the top three most valued traits in a vendor, citing product quality, responsiveness of support staff and strong partnership with Microsoft as the most important,” said Steve Dickson, vice president and general manager, Windows management solutions, Quest Software. “Quest’s high marks in the survey are directly related to our strength in these key areas. Quest’s reputation is solid; those who know Quest look to us for the breadth and depth of solutions that we can provide as a single vendor.”

The survey, conducted by Windows IT Media (IT Community Research), included more than 400 respondents. To qualify for the survey, participants had to be actively involved in managing Active Directory, Exchange Server or both. Eighty-four percent also managed other Microsoft platforms including Windows Server, SharePoint, .NET and SQL Server. One hundred percent of the respondents were employed by companies with more than 1,000 employees, and most of the respondents worked for organizations with annual revenues of more than $500million. Geographies represented in this survey included the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Respondents rated product quality as one of the most valued traits among vendors. Quest’s products continue to garner attention from the industry, confirming leadership in the Windows management arena.
